When our team was asked to join this farmhouse renovation, it was made clear that the client’s vision prioritized rehabilitation over reconstruction, a truth also engrained in Arkins Construction philosophy. Preservation, however, does not imply sacrificing the comfort of modern amenities. Instead, carefully chosen materials were sourced to provide contemporary convenience while retaining most elements of the historical structure.

Any new additions included in this project were fused seamlessly with existing structures, creating a sense of expanse intimately woven into original architectural aesthetics. The main farmhouse secures a layout of additions expelling outward, all finished in restored clapboards. Accented with wood and bluestone, this home defends its modest homestead integrity while enjoying the quiet luxury of contemporary renovations.
