For over 30 years Arkins Construction Co. has collaborated with architects, engineers, designers, local tradesmen, and ecological organizations to ensure a safe, healthy, and productive work/living environment for everyone involved in making your dream home come to fruition.

Stone walls, salt marshes, harbors, and hay fields inspire our timeless rural architecture and craftsmanship, while new green building technologies equip us to create a healthy home and future for the countryside that we all yearn for. Utilizing renewable materials we aim to make, create, and restore history while mitigating our carbon footprint.

We have become an industry leader along New England’s Farmcoast through our millwork shop and skilled carpenter’s dedication to craftsmanship while our talented and innovative architectural design team adds valuable guidance and technical expertise towards construction.

Our full service capabilities include general contracting, millwork, architectural design & consultation, complete site planning & preparation, high-end carpentry, seamless project management, historical restoration, and sustainable building. We also run The Bow Rafter Co., fabricating glulam bowed-timber rafters.

CELEBRATING 30 YEARS IN BUSINESS

Our History

How We Started

Tom Arkins was born and raised in County Clare, Ireland, where he began working in construction. After his arrival in the U.S. in 1988 – he spent four years with the Talbot Construction Company in Adamsville, Rhode Island. During this period he took part in a variety of projects, including new construction, additions and historical restoration, and architectural millwork.

The Arkins team has developed into a full service design+build & contracting firm specializing in custom millwork, high-end carpentry, and sustainable design.

Projects begin with careful consideration of our clients’ goals, ideas and needs, and – while we provide guidance and technical expertise – our clients are involved in the full design process to ensure that the final product is true to their intentions.

Ultimately, our aim is to design and build safe and healthy architecture that precisely matches the expectations of the client.
